Cook Like a Pro in Your Indoor Grill

!9#: Cook Like a Pro in Your Indoor Grill

Indoor grilling does not require one to be an expert in culinary, but some basic procedures if followed, will just make the grilled item more palatable. For starters, it is best to use the correct type of cut for your favorite meat, fish or poultry. The thinner the cut the better, but thicker cuts e.g. rib-eye steaks just needs to grilled a few minutes longer and/or at a few degrees higher. Also, it is important to make sure that the cut is even for uniform cooking.

Marinating the meat or fish should be the next important aspect, and that too the right way using correct quantities. Appropriate spice rubs of your choice, a sprinkle of salt and pepper, lemon or vinegar, sauce like barbecue, fish or steak sauce etc. should be used to marinade and then set aside for some time. For some meat marinade, plain yogurt is an excellent meat softener and taste booster. Apply marinade, place the meat or fish in a zip lock plastic bag and keep it in the refrigerator. The longer the marinade is allowed to settle on the meat the better the taste. The following suggestions are for best results:

- Meat (beef, lamb, venison) - 1.00 - 2.00 hours
- Poultry (chicken, turkey, quail) - 30 - 45mins
- Fish (salmon, tilapia, catfish) - 15 - 20mins

When it is ready to cook, your favorite countertop or electric indoor grill should be pre-heated using the digital or analog temperature dial. Spray oil on the grill plates and put the meat or fish at an angle in the grill. If using contact grill, then the lid should be closed gently (do not press) and let your favorite meat or fish cook undisturbed. Check halfway through for grill marks and then turn it over. You do not have to do this for a contact grill.

Once done to your satisfaction, enjoy the grilled dish with your favorite side items (sautéed onions, mashed potatoes, vegetables etc.). The times below should help you estimate how long it should take for the meat or fish to cook in any type of indoor grill.

- Steaks 12-14mins
- Chicken 8-10mins
- Fish Fillets 6-8mins
- Sausage 4-6mins
- Hamburgers 10-12mins

Necessary Kitchen Cookware

Our earliest ancestors apparently ate everything raw. According to speculative thinkers, cooking was discovered by accident. They believe that perhaps an animal carcass was left too close to the fire resulting in roast meat. Apart from roasting food over a fire, rocks may have been hollowed out (or skulls), filled with food and placed in the fire embers.

Similarly, suggestions have been forthcoming regarding steaming, namely that food was wrapped in wet leaves and buried in the embers. As survival of the fittest was necessary, soft cooked food was by far easier for children and the elderly to consume, and consequently live longer. The clay pot, from around 6000 BC, was perhaps the antecedent of our current, essential plethora of pots.

Grilling our food, either on a BBQ or at the cooker, means the food is cooked either over flames, as with a BBQ, or under heat, with gas or electric fuel. The appeal of this sort of cooking is the instant, delicious smell with the accompanying sound of sizzles. The high temperature and speed means the fat drips off the food as it cooks: ideal for the health conscious.

Stainless steel is a highly practical type of steel developed in the early 1900's and eminently suitable for pans and cutlery. Kitchen cutlery is versatile and multi-purpose, but owning a canteen of cutlery is a luxury that serves the household well. It has associations reminiscent of a previous time when the best 'china' was brought out for visitors. Children in particular will love sorting and matching the various spoons, knives and forks. Learning to set the table correctly is an invaluable experience for children. A set of stacking pans is beneficial when teaching children how to keep the kitchen tidy.

The beauty of today's ovenware is that it can be transported from the oven to table in one uncomplicated move, without transferring foods into different dishes and risking the loss of valuable heat.
In the past it was believed that both pans and pots cooked better if some residue and build-up from previous meals remained on the base and sides. However, with the arrival of dishwashers in the modern kitchen, and easy-to-clean materials, the cookware is soon returned to a pristine condition.

Food preparation is simplified with the correct tools and gadgets. Furthermore, grinders, slicers, graters and whisks facilitate experimental cooking.

The Benefits of K-Cups at the Office

!9# The Benefits of K-Cups at the Office

Keurig K-Cup machines are wonderful for the home, but they really shine in the workplace. Think about how many times you have walked into the break room to see a sliver of burned coffee at the very bottom of the pot. Or, the day you get a nice big cup only to find out later (when you're falling asleep at your desk) that someone had made a pot of decaf that morning. Then there are the days when the coffee is as muddy as a swamp, or as weak as if the same grounds had been run through the machine 3 times. The Keurig K-Cup is the true solution to all of those problems.

With the K-Cup, every employee is at his or her own leisure to create their very own delicious cup of coffee, at their convenience. So many different people in one place are bound to have many different tastes and desires. Some will want strong java; others, decaf. Some will enjoy a nice cup of tea in the morning, while others would enjoy fresh hot cocoa. The K-Cup makes this not only possible, but simple.

Another benefit is that K-Cups are very affordable, especially when compared to going out to a coffee shop every morning instead of braving the break room. Having a K-Cup available in the office can cut down on coffee runs and increase productivity and sanity in the office. Morale will be up too, since employees will be able to get their morning perk in any way they want it.

Regular coffee machines in the office are almost certain to cause a huge mess from time to time. Coffee drips on the countertop, water spills when filling up the reservoir, coffee grounds and torn filters all over the place. The K-Cup eliminates these problems as well, since it is so clean and easy to use. If only it would clean the office microwave.

Keurig offers several advanced systems for offices. Plumbed and pour over systems are both available to suit office needs from small to large. Whether your office required a plumbed line that automatically feeds and stores K-Cups for quick and efficient use, or a small pour over model will suffice for just a few employees, the convenience of a Keurig K-Cup system will make the office a happier place.

Another great way to enjoy K-Cups at the office is to get your own DeskPro personal sized desktop brewer. A personal brewer can get you through those tough days without ever having to wait for an entire pot to boil or a chance to run out to the nearest coffee shop. A personal K-Cup brewer is a great gift, either for yourself or another hard-worker in your life.

The office is truly the ideal place for K-Cup coffee machines. Whether it is to please customers or to keep the staff happy, a K-Cup coffee machine is up to the job. It is great in any office setting and always makes the best cup of coffee possible.
